In this clip, Malcolm X talks about last names, and how slavery had destroyed or disrupted the heritage of african americans by giving slaves improper last names.  An interesting discussion and frankly an aspect of slavery that one does not often think of.  In the clip, he states that, when you run across a black man with the last name of Johnson, you could look back into his acsestral past and see where one of his ancestors was owned by a white family named Johnson, and the name was given to the black man to show ownership over the slave.  His point was that culturally, Blacks have lost a lot of their heritage forever because of slavery, it is an ongoing thing, where they will never be able to trace their origins back properly.
